License invalid -- there is a problem with your license -- error 12

Bought this game when it came out. since then I got a new computer and i wanted to install and run it on here.
I just re-downloaded the program from Greenhouse and entered the license code from the "My Games" page.
When i enter the license, there is a pause (presumably while contacting the server) and then I get the message:
-- License invalid
-- there is a problem with your license
-- error 12
-- please contact support at hotheadgames.com
Since I got my license from greenhouse i figured i would contact you as well.
This program and license worked fine on my old computer a year ago.
