Quick question about greenhouse

I was wondering if there would be a way to download games you've bought from GreenHouse more then once. Kind of like how steam allows you to download to your account, would this also be how GreenHouse works, because I know I like to sometimes show off my games some times over a friends house or when I reformat my hard drive (I have a tendancy to murder my computer accidentally by screwing with things I probably shouldn't). I would doubt that it'd be a one-time download, but I haven't seen it posted on the forums and i'm curious as to how it would work.

Re:Quick question about greenhouse - download games you've bought

As a registered user to Greenhouse any and all games that you have purchased will show in your profile, there you will have a link where you can again download the game if you happen to accidentally murder your system or have any other unfortunate accidents.

If you are not a registered user then it becomes a little more complicated, you will have to make a request to us and prove that you have indeed purchased the game and then we can go from there. This process is manual and could take some time, so it is advised that if your intention is to purchase our games then being registered is an advantage.

Great post and I hope that answers your question.

Re:Quick question about greenhouse
Is there any planned limit to the number of times registered users can redownload?
We don't anticipate having to limit the number of redownloads but remember that each new machine or major hardware change may trigger a new key to be issued against your license. Our plan is to allow multiple installs and to be generous in that regard to cover murdered systems, planned upgrades, people wanting to play it on their PC and their Mac or even Linux box etc. Even if the limit is reached--a limit that we have not determined yet--we will be flexible in resetting or increasing the limit for paying customers. If you are registered, we will keep your license keys stored for you in your profile and you will be able to see the number of times that license has been used for various systems so there will be no surprises.

That sounds like the best possible system to me. You can stop people creating an account and sharing it with the whole internet, but won't punish people who need to redownload.

Re:Quick question about greenhouse

Along the lines of the original question, let's say we were to purchase the game on the XBox 360. Would we also be able to download the game to other systems we own? Would the reverse also be true (ie, if I purchase it for my Mac can I download to my 360 after)?

Cheers,
fenix

XBLA is a different beast, so unfortunately not. If you download any of the versions from Greenhouse (Mac, Linux and PC) you can run all of those, but you'd have to buy it separately from Xbox with your MS points to get the XBLA version as well.

Re:Quick question about greenhouse

I figured this would be the case but it was worth asking. As handy as it would be to have a universal license I can see how difficult, if not impossible, developing such a thing would be. Thanks for the quick response, kristin!

Cheers,
fenix
